Once my wife and I drove through Mission Viejo late in 1990, we knew this is where we wanted to raise our children after moving here from Texas. Some 23 years later, and sending one son off to graduate from U.C. Davis, and our other son attending Saddleback College, we can only confirm we made the right decision. Having spent 30 years with Pioneer Electronics, U.S.A., and the last five of those years as President for the United States, has provided me a wealth of knowledge and experience in running a business with 100+ employees and over half a billion dollars of top line revenue. Since my retirement as President from Pioneer Electronics in 2009, and in addition to a number of accomplishments, including induction into the Dealerscope Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame, I have started my own business which now manages two separate businesses. So now has come the time for me to give back to the great city my family calls home. I look forward to putting in the time and offer my many years of experience to the city, while bringing the needed leadership our city currently seems to lack with some of our council members. I run for this office to become your representative with
focused reason, responsibility and accountability. We cannot continue to accept budget overruns or even to spend money as though we are blind to our current economic condition. If you are looking for a council member that knows we are spending your money, not "city money," and if you think that spending money on Rose Bowl Parade floats is wrong just because the city had some money in the budget; then I am your candidate.
| If you believe that having served on several boards overseeing multimillion dollar businesses brings the type of experience to unwinding redevelopment agencies monies; then I am your candidate. If you believe that contracts and bids for city work actually mean something, and not simply a skeleton on which to continually hang change orders (adding more cost) or phases; then I am your candidate. If you believe that running a city with transparent balance sheets and budgets that actually balance each fiscal year, and that actually putting together a 10, 20 and 30 year business development plan for our city is a rational act, then I am your candidate. I believe that as your employee, you need to give me your thoughts on a regular basis and not just during council meetings. Let's plan to have regular scheduled meetings together every month, so you can tell me what is on your mind. If this is the kind of thinking you can get behind; then I am your candidate. We will never begin to see a national recovery without a California recovery, and you cannot have a California recovery without strong, independent, fiscally responsible cities.
